Sherri Cruse Race Report WORCS RD1 AZ
There was a pretty good turnout of off-road women pro racers at the first round of the WORC Series held Saturday, January 17th at Speed World MX Track. Weather was great, in the 80¹s. The track held up ok for the women¹s pro race, just a few really dry spots. There were a lot of fast straight-aways that are not my favorite, but it was good. Despite suffering from a sprained thumb (which I did going over the bars in the morning
practice) I felt I rode pretty well. I got the holeshot and led the whole moto by a good margin. I think the tire choice Broc at Dunlop suggested for us, worked out awesome. Towards the end of my 50-minute moto I had a hard time passing one of the racers that was not in contention for the lead in his class. I ended up crashing in the last lap but thanks to my Rekluse Clutch my bike didn¹t stall and I was still able to finish with a nice lead on second place (Tatum Sik) and third place (Penni Cyrus, who unfortunately got DQ¹d later). All in all it was a really great weekend.
Now, I am looking forward to doing some PR work at Anaheim 3 and getting my new Suzuki¹s set up for more racing in February.
Thank you for all your support.
