Valli Motorsports Race Report
The Valli Motorsports team made their debut today with defending champion Bobby Bonds, Bobby
Garrison and Kyle Summers. This event was the first race with the teams transporter and new awning
and definitely "looked" the part in the pits with the Honda colors of red and black on the semi and a
black awning covering the semi trailer.
After many months testing and riding the new Honda CRF450R motorcycles we felt very comfortable
with the engine settings and suspension going into the event. We were very surprised to learn of Kyle's
motor problems three quarters of the way through. Kyle, the "rookie" on the team made a statement
today with his riding doing the talking after leading 9 of the 11 lap event before having mechanical
issues stop his phenomenal charge. leading second place by almost 30 seconds most of the race Kyle
was really on a mission to start the season off on the right foot before his engine let go. Defending
champion Bobby Bonds got off to a great start in third place and looked to be on the podium at one time
with his teammate Kyle but a fall on the third lap relegating him to 6th place had him claw all the way
back to second overall. Bobby Garrison returned to Worcs racing after a 6 month layoff due to a broken
humerous and looked close to his old self. Bobby didn't ride up to his expectations but more than met
the teams as this was his first race in 6 months finishing at tenth overall, fifteen seconds from seventh
place.
The team has five weeks until the next event in Adelanto and has it work cut out as we need to finalize
engine settings and get the boys more comfortable on their new mounts.
